How much does a website cost?
Not every project is the same. Below, you can find out what factors influence the price, the typical scale of projects, and what additional costs may apply. At the end, you can use four questions to work out the approximate cost of your project.

Scope
Number of pages, complexity and size. Single-page websites are quicker to design than a company website featuring services, the team and client references.
Project frameworkContents
If all the media are already to hand, it’s quick. If I have to write content and source or take photos, it means more work.
Media selectionFeatures
Contact forms, online shops, online booking systems, login areas and data management are, in some cases, entire components that I create and integrate.
InteractivityLevel of detail
How sophisticated will the website’s design be? Simple designs follow classic rules. As soon as things become abstract or artistic, a great deal of testing is required and the elements need to be combined correctly.
PresentationTimeframe
There is no extra charge for standard planning. If there is a tight deadline, this will affect the price.
PriorityBroad classification
A brief appearance
One to three pages. For individuals and small businesses.
Company website
Several pages covering services, the team, testimonials, contact details, etc. Standard for most SMEs.
Additional features
Shop, online booking, login area, multilingual support, etc.
Always a fixed price
The price is agreed before I start. If you request subsequent changes to a website I have built and which you have already approved, additional charges will apply depending on the amount of work involved. The fixed price will only be confirmed after our discussion.
Running costs
These are required to get your website online. Prices are subject to change.
Domain
(Can be cancelled annually)
For a ‘.ch’ domain. Others may cost more. If you already have a domain, I can take it over. It will continue to cost the same as you are currently paying.
Hosting
(Minimum contract term with Hostpoint: 6 months)
I work with Hostpoint, a Swiss provider with servers in Switzerland. The prices are publicly available and you don’t pay any extra.

Your own server?
It is possible to host a website on your own server. However, this involves considerable costs and security risks. I simply do not have the necessary training to provide such a service.

Photos taken on site
When I come round to take team portraits or photos of the business and then edit them, the cost depends on the scope of the job and the number of photos. I’m happy to do this and have plenty of experience, but I don’t always have the time. Just ask.
