Good design is no accident
Computers, technology and design have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. I started programming at fifteen and built my first complete website at sixteen.
I’m quite a quiet person and I pay close attention to detail. It’s the little details that nobody else notices that determine whether a website comes across as professional or not. As well as my job, I’m studying for my vocational A-levels and I absolutely love good food.
In the past, customers would walk through the shop door and decide within the first few seconds whether to stay. Today, the same thing happens on your website, only faster and more often.
My values
Clear communication
Most websites don’t go wrong because of technical issues, but because two people have understood things differently. That’s why I explain what I’m planning to do before I do it, prefer to ask one question too many, and share progress updates early on. You’ll know exactly where the project stands at all times.
Fixed arrangements
The price, scope and deadline are agreed before I start, and they remain valid even if I have misjudged the work involved. An open-ended hourly rate shifts the risk onto you and means you have to think twice about the cost before making any enquiries. I don’t want that.
Honesty
Sometimes a business doesn’t need a new website, but rather better photos, a tidied-up Google listing, or none of the above. In that case, I’ll tell you so, even if it means I lose the job. And if I make a mistake whilst working, you’ll hear about it from me, not from your customers.
In good faith
Whatever you tell me about your business, your figures and your customers will remain confidential. I will only use any access details you provide for the purpose for which you gave them to me, and ultimately the domain, content and code will belong to you. For me, a handshake still means something.
